Nurture Yourself

Nurture YourselfNurturing yourself is so very important. We are the only ones who truly know what we need.

Each day we are out there, sharing ourselves with others. It may be our family, our co-workers, our clients, or strangers. And I’m sure you are at your best when you are with others. I know I always am. 🙂


But by the end of the day, or sometimes in the middle of the day, we need to take a step away from everyone and nurture ourselves. We need that time alone to regenerate and come back to center.


I had an earlier blog on Self Care which I would encourage you to read. And this certainly is similar, but it also goes a little deeper. I’m talking about nurturing your soul, not just your physical body.


Here are some ideas of how you could nurture yourself:

  • Take a walk in nature and let your stride match the wind
  • Listen to your favorite song or album
  • Do something you’ve always wanted to do but keep putting off
  • Sit and listen to your body. What is it telling you?
  • Do something creative (draw, paint, cook, write, knit/crochet)
  • Write a list of 100 things you love/like about yourself
  • Send yourself a love note
  • Get some fresh flowers for your desk or table and breathe deeply

When you truly take time for you, to nurture your soul, you will be amazed how you will in turn, nurture and inspire others to do the same.
