Greet Each Day

sunriseWhen you meet someone for the first time, what do you do? Greet them with a ‘Hello, how you doing’, maybe a handshake or a nod or something along those lines.

When you meet a friend for a gathering, what do you do? Greet them with either a smile or a warm hug.

So why not greet each day with a warm reception as well?

This morning I noticed this soft orange glow coming from outside. I opened the blinds to see if it was the sunrise as I thought and oh, what a beautiful sunrise it was, coming to greet me.

The sun does greet us each and every morning. Sometimes we may not be able to see it, but we know the sun is there, shining on us.

Why not greet the sun back and set the tone for our day. We do anyway, but probably aren’t conscious of it.

Maybe you grumble as you're crawling out of bed or maybe you’ve slammed the alarm clock on snooze a few times already. Or maybe the first words out of your mouth or “@#& it’s Monday”.

How about greet each day by reflecting back the beauty it bestows upon us each morning, without fail.

  • Good Morning Sunshine! Thank you for shining upon me and making my day just that much brighter.
  • Good Morning New Day! I appreciate that today is a new beginning for me. I will do my best.
  • Good Morning! Thank you for being there.
  • Good Morning! I love that you are with me each and every day, without fail.

How do you greet each day?

Angel Blessings to you.

I have found when I use my typical morning routine my day gets off to a better start than when I just get up and rush into the day. Having quiet time to start my day is a big part of my daily plan.

Yes, I would totally agree with that Mark! Thanks for the comment.

I don’t take the time to greet the day in this wey; however, I get your point. How much better might my day be if I take a few minutes to start the day in a much more positive manner?

    Thank you for sharing!

Who knows Julie – sounds like you have some research to do. I’d love to hear about your findings and what a difference it makes. 🙂

Usually I greet my dogs first for the day! Bouncing around – they make me happy. But what a lovely thought to say hello to the day!

Pets are a great way to greet the day too – because yes, they are always happy. And many times it’s contagious. 🙂

Now that I use my smartphone as my alarm clock I am woken every morning to my favourite uplifting song. It’s a great way to wake up cheerful – especially since I’m a natural night owl instead of a lark.
