Boundaries

The past few days for me have been about boundaries. This is an interesting topic. Some of you may be wondering, what are you talking about.

sunI’ll explain as best as I can.

  • Have you ever done something that you felt you ‘should’ do instead of coming from a place of ‘I want to’?
  • Have you ever gone somewhere because you felt ‘I have to’ instead of ‘I would love to be there to spend time with them’?
  • Have you felt ‘obligated’ to reciprocate instead of feeling ‘I really would like to do this or gift this or offer this’?

When we come from a place of ‘should, have to or obligation, the energy that goes along with it is much denser, thicker and lower vibration.

When we come from a place of love, the energy with it is much lighter and a higher vibration.

The new energies of 2013 have to do with shining your light, standing in your power and coming from a centered place of love. These all sound like boundaries to me.

Sometimes it’s difficult to say no to someone because our boundaries are telling us to. But as a friend of mine said to me:

When we say no to another, we are saying yes to ourselves.

That is not coming from a selfish place. It is coming from a place of Love and Compassion for ourselves. We all know the saying ‘place the oxygen mask on yourself first’. 🙂

Angel Blessings to you.

Sue

That’s a hoot. Yes, this is so important. It’s also when we are attached to an image of being a good person and a ‘giver’ that saying NO (when we want to say no) becomes a problem.

Oh Joy, you are absolutely right – the image, the perception, what everyone thinks we should be and how we should be. 🙂 But the wonderful thing about it is we can still be a good person & a giver, just ‘do ourselves’ first. Thanks for the comments. Sue

Great Post. I juggle a job and my business. I feel like i have to go to work but when it comes to photography i cant wait and i love the thought of doing it. I feel completely different doing both.

When you’re doing what you love, it makes a difference on how we feel and the others around us too. Thanks for the comment Te.

A good quote and reminder – “When we say no to another, we are saying yes to ourselves.”

I thought it was a great reminder too. 🙂

So true. Sometimes we get so busy saying yes to the wrong things that we can miss the ones we want to say yes to. We each have our own path to follow in life and letting someone detour our path doesn’t help them or us.

Exactly Toby. And how many times do we say yes for the wrong reasons… It’s something great to take notice of before we say yes. 🙂
